The Why Behind Guide & Grow Learning Co

Guide and Grow Learning Co grew from years of supporting children who were carrying far more than anyone realised. Children who were too anxious to make it through the school gate, who held everything in all day only to fall apart at home, or who found friendships confusing and exhausting. It grew from sitting with parents trying to understand what was happening beneath the surface, and it grew from my own experiences of supporting my son through similar challenges.
In my Support Teacher role, I regularly sat with teachers and parents to talk through a child’s needs and the support available. I could see how much pressure families were under, and how exhausting it was to manage information, emotions, and decisions all at the same time. With teachers and schools already so under pressure, parents are often left to work it all out on their own, with very little support to guide them through it.
That is why I created Guide and Grow. I wanted to build a space where families could find guidance that feels real and relatable. A place where professional experience and lived experience come together. A place where parents can ask questions, explore options, and feel genuinely supported as they make decisions for their child.
A place that is grounded in empathy, shaped by real life, and built with the hope that no parent ever has to navigate this journey feeling alone.

A Little About Me

Family

I’m a proud mum to three incredible children. My daughters Chloe (26) and Taylah (24), and my son Chace (15), have taught me more about patience, resilience, and love than any textbook ever could. Parenting is a wild ride on its own, and when neurodivergence is part of the story, emotions become even more layered and complex. That lived experience continues to shape the way I support families every day.

Pets

I’m a huge animal lover and share my home with three fur babies. My bubbalicious boo boo Kallie (as I call her) and my two cats, Oakley and Zeus, keep life entertaining. My daughters have also given me a fur grandchild each. Mack (Macky boy), a Miniature Australian Bulldog, and Scrappy, a Rottweiler–Sausage dog cross (yes, really). They’re all just so gorgeous and I love spending time with them; they are my happy place.

Work

I’ve spent more than twenty years working with children and families in Early Childhood and Primary education, and those years have shown me that no two children experience the world in the same way. A one‑size‑fits‑all approach simply doesn’t work.
Both in my classroom and through homeschooling my son, I’ve seen how being a neuro-affirming teacher and providing flexible, responsive learning environments can transform a child’s confidence. Watching a student shift from “I can’t” to “I’m going to give it my best” is something I never take for granted.

My Purpose

I genuinely love helping the people in my life. When a close friend asked me to support her through the before, during, and after stages of her daughter’s diagnosis, it lit something up in me. It combined my love of helping with my love of encouraging. It also showed me how much stress can be lifted from families when they have someone walking alongside them who understands the system, the practical steps, and the emotional weight of it all, both professionally and personally.
